Dr. Angie Sage

Dr. Angie Sage was born in Honduras and immigrated to the United States with her family as a child. She was raised  in New Orleans, Louisiana where she dreamed of having a career working with children. How did she know she wanted to be a dentist?  Hurricane Katrina gave her an opportunity to be a dental assistant at a local pediatric dental practice in the Baton Rouge area. She was able to see firsthand what working in the pediatric dental field was like and felt called to this profession. It also allowed her to go into dental school knowing she wanted to specialize in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Sage received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from LSU School of Dentistry. Dr. Sage completed her pediatric dentistry residency at UT Health in San Antonio.

In addition to earning her Doctorate in Dental Surgery, Dr. Sage is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. To be Board Certified, Dr. Sage completed additional training and examinations. This voluntary process helped to advance her knowledge and skills in caring for pediatric patients. The certification shows a commitment to her patients and her passion for providing each child with the best care possible.

While at LSU School of Dentistry, Dr. Sage met her husband, Joseph, who is a general dentist in the San Antonio area. They fell in love with San Antonio and decided to make it their home. The couple welcomed their first child, Matthew, in 2017 and had their second son, Christian, in 2019. Their family also includes a golden doodle named Teddy. Experiencing motherhood firsthand has served to grow Dr. Sage’s passion for helping parents build healthy habits for their children’s oral health.

When not in the office Dr. Sage can be found spending time with her family, exploring San Antonio, listening to a good book, or cheering on her LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints during football season.
