Dr. Susie DeKoch attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, where she earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. During her time at UVA, Dr. DeKoch was actively involved with Kluge Children’s Rehab Hospital. She also organized and worked with a team of orthopedic surgeons and fellow biomedical engineers to design an innovative total hip replacement.
Dr. DeKoch’s interests in healthcare and orthopedics led her to an orthopedic surgical sales position with Smith & Nephew in Houston and later in Austin. After several years in this position, Dr. DeKoch made the decision to return to school and pursue a career in dentistry. In 2016, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry in San Antonio. Dr. DeKoch was awarded the Clinical Excellence Award by her clinical faculty, which is a testament to her dedication to helping people find health and wellness.
Dr. Susie DeKoch is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the San Antonio District Dental Society, and the Seattle Study Club. She is also a member of the Friends Board of the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas, the San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic Advisory Council, the Founder’s Council of the Texas Biomedical Research Institute, and First Presbyterian Church.
In 2016, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry in San Antonio.
